Learning by leaders

With baseline graduation requirements at school—in subjects like English, Math and Science—career education takes a back set; even advantaged students average only one hour of dedicated career counseling time during their entire time in high school. Learning By Leaders aims to close opportunity gaps in career success education and expand job readiness training for youth and young professionals. The Career Summit is our flagship event.

early entrepreneurs Initiative

In the future, the need for entrepreneurs and startups will be abundant. It’s projected that tens of thousands of companies and a third of nonprofits will close permanently as a result of this pandemic. Small businesses are exceptionally vulnerable and financially fragile. Early Entrepreneurs Initiative is an experiential program that empowers youth to learn how to start and sustain their own businesses—igniting young people’s personal passions, creating jobs and building a stronger collective economy. This program is open to teens and college-age adults.

PIONEERS IN PROFESSIONS

A healthy workforce relies on the talent of tomorrow… According to recent surveys, local employers have identified skill gaps, shortages and mismatches among workers in key occupations. Pioneers In Professions is a preparatory program for young people to explore potential career paths and job fields—while receiving education, training and apprenticeship opportunities, in response to employers’ in-demand skill gaps and talent needs. This program is available to college-age adults and young professionals.

Innovators in Industry

COVID-related conditions have changed the way we do business forever… In the future, we will see the emergence of new industries and the exit of others. Innovators In Industry is a reflective and exploratory program for future innovators to learn about today’s market, find out where they fit and forecast opportunities for tomorrow’s workforce. This program is open to college-age adults and young professionals.

Champions in change

We have seen businesses and organizations forced to close or downsize—eliminating staff. Unfortunately, layoffs disproportionately affect women and communities of color. Champions In Change mobilizes companies to optimize job creation, prevent layoffs, and re-employ or re-engage diverse talent.

Women and people of color are underrepresented in c-suite executive roles—and it’s not for lack of education or qualifications. Winners For The Workplace is a proponent for promoting talent and developing leaders internally; this program encourages employers to invest in the career advancement and mentorship of diverse professionals.
