Oregon Community Foundation partners with UPLIFT Leadership to support career readiness education for Latino/a/e/x youth
Portland, Ore. – Aug. 14, 2025 – UPLIFT Leadership announced today that it has been awarded a $7,000 grant from Oregon Community Foundation to support career readiness education for Latino, Latina, Latine and Latinx youth.
UPLIFT programming centers on post-secondary education success, leadership development, wealth building and workforce development skills for youth and young professionals between 16 and 26 years old.
“Employability skills are critical for economic mobility. We must work diligently to ensure this kind of education is available and accessible to communities that need it most,” said Kyle Kavas, President at UPLIFT Leadership. “We are grateful for this support from The Latino Partnership Program.”
Most recently, UPLIFT Leadership hosted The Career Summit—a four-day camp designed to support employability skills for young people. 53 percent of students represent Latino/a/e/x communities.
The funding included support from The Latino Partnership Program grant of Oregon Community Foundation.
