UPLIFT Leadership hosts annual Career Summit
Portland, Ore. – Aug. 1, 2025 – This summer, UPLIFT Leadership hosted more than 90 students and volunteers at The Career Summit—a career readiness conference and camp for youth and young professionals—at University of Oregon in Eugene on July 24 to 27, 2025.
Students are young Oregonians, including high school and college-age young people between 16 and 26 years old.
UPLIFT Leadership’s Career Summit program centers on employability skills, helping students explore potential industries and career fields, find jobs and get hired, build skills for the workforce, and advance professionally.
Desired outcomes include greater career clarity, confidence, college exposure, communication skills, connections and a sense of community.
“We are always aiming for that lightbulb moment, where students discover career paths that align with their interests and skills,” said Kyle Kavas, President at UPLIFT Leadership. “With support and encouragement, students can foresee a plan for their future in only four days.”
This summer marks the fourth year of The Career Summit and its third year as a four-day overnight conference.
This program is open to all students, with a special emphasis on those who identify as undecided, underemployed or underserved. For more information, please visit upliftleadership.org/career-summit.
